The CN Paynes Subdivision is located between Glencoe and St. Thomas. It is the former CN Chatham Subdivision.
At Glencoe, the CN Paynes Subdivision Jct.'s with the CN Chatham Subdivision and at St. Thomas, it connects to the CN/TR Cayuga Spur (formerly the CN Cayuga Subdivision).
The CN Paynes Subdivision was given it's name in the late 1980's when the present trackage of the CN Paynes Subdivision used to be the CN Chatham Subdivision.
Originally the CN Chatham Subdivision ran between St. Thomas and Windsor, but now it runs between Komoka and Windsor.
NS used to operate on the CN Paynes Subdivision out of St. Thomas to Glencoe and down the CN Chatham Subdivision to Chatham to the CSX Sarnia Subdivision to the CN Caso Subdivision and west throught the Detroit Windsor Tunnel. The two trains that did this were NS 343 and 344.
NS also operates 328 north out of St. Thomas to London and east to Buffalo after moving cars to and from the Talbotville Ford plant. The counterpart to 328 is 327 which operates from Buffalo to St. Thomas across the same Subdivisions.
There are two yards on the CN Paynes Subdivision. There is the one in downtown St. Thomas at mile 0.0 and the other is west of St. Thomas at mile 2.6.
On December 30, 2006, NS 328 headed for Buffalo, NY. for the last time with two light units. Since late 1995 or early 1996, NS ran west out of St. Thomas on the CN Paynes Subdivision, operating NS 328 and 328. The contract to service the Ford plant in Talbotville ended. After about 107 or so years of Wabash, N & W and NS activity in the St. Thomas area, NS ceased to exist in Canada, except for NS 369, which still interchanges with CN at Fort Erie on the CN Stamford Subdivision.

This is the lead of the Ford track off of the Paynes Subdivision just west of Edgeware Road at mile 1.81.
